Care & Display

Art is an investment — in your space, in your taste, and in the work itself. Treated well, a No Flaws Art piece will hold its quality for decades. This guide covers everything you need to know about displaying and caring for your prints, canvases, and phone cases.

Poster Art — Display & Care

Hanging

  • Use the hanging hardware included with your framed print. For unframed prints, we recommend a frame with UV-protective glazing to maximise longevity.
  • Hang at eye level — the centre of the artwork should sit approximately 145 to 152 cm from the floor, which is the standard gallery hanging height.
  • Use a spirit level. A slightly crooked print is one of the most common and easily avoided display mistakes.

Light & Environment

  • Avoid direct sunlight. UV exposure is the primary cause of print fading over time. Position your print away from windows that receive direct sun, or use UV-filtering glazing if sunlight is unavoidable.
  • Avoid high humidity. Bathrooms and kitchens are not ideal environments for paper prints. Moisture causes paper to warp and inks to degrade.
  • Maintain a stable room temperature. Extreme fluctuations in temperature can cause paper to expand and contract, leading to warping over time.

Cleaning

  • For framed prints, clean the glass or acrylic glazing with a soft, lint-free cloth. Do not spray cleaning products directly onto the glazing — apply to the cloth first.
  • Do not touch the printed surface of an unframed print. Handle by the edges only, ideally with clean cotton gloves.
  • If dust settles on an unframed print, use a soft, dry brush or a can of compressed air held at a distance. Do not use damp cloths on the print surface.

Canvas Art — Display & Care

Hanging

  • All No Flaws Art canvases arrive with hanging hardware attached. The canvas is gallery-wrapped and ready to hang — no additional framing is required.
  • For canvases over 60 cm in width, we recommend using two wall fixings for stability rather than one central hook.
  • Ensure your wall fixings are appropriate for your wall type (plasterboard, brick, or concrete). Use wall anchors where necessary.

Light & Environment

  • Avoid prolonged direct sunlight. Canvas prints use archival inks, but sustained UV exposure will cause gradual fading in any print medium.
  • Canvas is more resilient to humidity than paper, but we still recommend avoiding bathrooms and kitchens for long-term display.

Cleaning

  • Dust your canvas periodically with a soft, dry cloth or a clean, dry paintbrush. Work gently in one direction.
  • For surface marks, use a barely damp cloth and dab — do not rub. Allow to air dry completely.
  • Do not use chemical cleaning products, solvents, or abrasive materials on the canvas surface.

Phone Cases — Care

Everyday Use

  • The artwork on your No Flaws Art phone case is printed directly into the case surface using a UV-resistant process. It will not peel, fade, or scratch under normal use.
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight when the case is not in use — for example, leaving your phone face-down on a sun-exposed surface for extended periods.

Cleaning

  • Clean your case with a soft, slightly damp cloth. A small amount of mild soap is safe to use.
  • Do not use bleach, alcohol-based cleaners, or abrasive pads on the printed surface.
  • Remove the case from your phone before cleaning if possible.

Storing Unframed Prints

If you are storing an unframed print before framing or display:

  • Store flat or rolled — never folded.
  • If rolling, roll with the printed side facing outward around an acid-free tube. Secure loosely with a ribbon or acid-free tissue — never with rubber bands.
  • Store in a cool, dry environment away from direct light.
  • Interleave with acid-free tissue paper if stacking multiple prints flat.
